Call for NC-AAAE Research Abstracts

We welcome your submission for research abstracts reporting a completed study that has not been previously reported at an AAAE Regional Research Conference or at the National AAAE Research Conference for acceptance. All abstract submissions will be reviewed by a team of volunteer reviewers (Appendix A).
Research Abstracts
Research abstracts must report empirical work in whole or in part. The research must be completed prior to submission. Abstracts should convey the potential for regional or national significance, focusing on research in teaching, communications, extension, and/or leadership. Abstracts will be reviewed based on potential impact of contribution, academic rigor and accuracy, and style and structure, following a similar rubric used for the Journal of Agricultural Education. Accepted abstracts will be presented at the NC-AAAE Regional Conference. Abstracts should include the following sections as appropriate for the type of work conducted:
- Introduction/Relevant Literature
- Theoretical/Conceptual Framework
- Purpose and Hypotheses/Objectives/Research Questions
- Methods/Procedures
- Findings/Results
- Recommendations/Discussion/Conclusions/Implications
- References
Abstract Format
- Indicate discipline area and page number in the top right header
- e.g., Agricultural Communications, Agricultural Leadership, Extension Education, School-Based Agricultural Education, Teacher Education, or Scholarship of Teaching and Learning/Higher Education
- Format in 12-pt Times New Roman font, single-spaced (double-spaced between paragraphs), 1” margins
- Center the bolded title at the top of the first page; capitalize first letters of words in the title
- Prepare abstracts for blinded review; remove all identifying information from the abstract; unblinded abstracts will be subject to automatic rejection
- Use the table function to prepare tables. Place tables and figures within the body of the paper as closely to their first mention as possible
- Limit abstracts to 5 pages, including all tables/figures and excluding references
- Insert page numbers centered at the bottom of each page. Do not use other headers, footers, or footnotes
- Follow manuscript guidelines recommended in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed.), except where modified above.
- Submit abstract in PDF format. Word files may be automatically rejected
